Daily Guess
Daily Guess: Game Description & Official Rulebook
Part I: Game Description
1.1 Overview and Lore
Welcome to Daily Guess, an engaging, cerebral daily deduction game that turns everyday observation, visual analysis, trivia knowledge, and pattern recognition into a captivating mental exercise. Set within the prestigious virtual halls of the Global Curiosity Institute, players take on the role of Master Deductive Agents tasked with cracking a brand-new, universally synchronized puzzle presented every 24 hours.
Unlike static trivia or traditional single-topic word puzzles, Daily Guess offers a multi-faceted deduction matrix. Each daily case presents a series of masked visual clues, cryptic spatial hints, numerical coordinates, and progressive text reveals that point toward a single hidden answer—a famous historical event, a geographic landmark, an iconic cultural masterpiece, an everyday object, or a world-changing innovation. With every incorrect guess, additional layers of the mystery unravel, giving players more context while lowering the maximum potential score for the day.
Designed for 1 to 6 players in head-to-head mode, or as a global daily routine for individual puzzle enthusiasts, Daily Guess balances accessible casual mechanics, educational discovery, and competitive social sharing. Whether played as a quiet morning coffee ritual, a family dinner table challenge, or a high-stakes competitive streak battle among friends, Daily Guess delivers an endlessly refreshing, intellectually satisfying daily routine.

To guarantee complete universal accessibility and color-blind friendliness, all visual clues are augmented with clear text descriptions, geometric icon identifiers, and adjustable high-contrast overlay filters.
1.4 Core Objectives
The primary objective in Daily Guess is to deduce the correct mystery entity using the fewest possible clues and incorrect guesses, thereby maximizing your Daily Deductive Score and maintaining an unbroken Daily Win Streak.
Points and achievements are awarded through:
- Early Clue Deductions: Successfully identifying the answer on Clue 1 or Clue 2.
- Streak Multipliers: Accumulating consecutive daily victories to boost overall leaderboard rank.
- Perfect Accuracy Bonuses: Solving the mystery without utilizing optional hint purchases.
- Speed Precision: Submitting correct guesses rapidly during competitive timed rounds.
Part II: Gameplay Instructions
2.1 Core Mechanics & Deductive Laws
Mastering Daily Guess requires logical elimination, lateral thinking, disciplined risk management, and careful analysis of incremental information.
Law 1: The Progressive Clue Reveal Sequence
- Each Daily Case consists of 6 sequential clue tiers arranged in increasing order of clarity:
- Clue 1 (Macro Detail / Cryptic Silhouette): A heavily zoomed-in image, abstracted silhouette, or ambiguous historical date.
- Clue 2 (Category & Geographic/Contextual Anchor): Broad classification (e.g., "Geography / Natural Wonder" or "Invention / 19th Century").
- Clue 3 (Numerical / Statistical Hint): Key dimensions, dates, population numbers, or structural metrics.
- Clue 4 (Cultural / Functional Anagram): A partial word scrambled fragment, famous quotation, or associated cultural reference.
- Clue 5 (Unmasked Visual / Spatial Detail): A clear, unblurred section of the main visual asset.
- Clue 6 (Direct Conceptual Anomaly): A near-explicit descriptive clue that virtually guarantees identification.
Law 2: The Six-Attempt Limit
- A player or team is granted a maximum of 6 official guess attempts per case.
- Every incorrect guess reveals the next sequential clue in the matrix and reduces the maximum score potential for that session.
Law 3: Simultaneous Deduction & Privacy
- In competitive multi-player modes, all players analyze revealed clues at the same time behind their privacy screens.
- Guesses are written down secretly and revealed simultaneously at the end of each round phase to prevent players from copying an opponent's logic.
Law 4: The One-Guess Per Tier Restriction
- A player may only submit ONE official guess per revealed clue tier. Skipping a guess to view the next clue is permitted, but consumes that tier's score tier without penalty of a false guess record.
2.2 Game Setup
- Initialize the Clue Dashboard: Place the Central Clue Reveal Dashboard in the center of the table with all 6 shutter bays closed.
- Select the Daily Case: Draw the corresponding Case Card for the current day from the Case Deck and insert it secretly into the dashboard.
- Equip Player Consoles: Give each player a Deductive Agent Console, dry-erase marker, privacy screen, and 3 starting Deduction Tokens.
- Set Score Ledgers: Ensure all player score trackers and streak indicators are set to reflect their active campaign totals.
- Initialize Timer (Optional): If playing in competitive speed mode, place the 60-second sand timer beside the dashboard.
- Begin the Case: Open Shutter Bay 1 to reveal the first clue!
2.3 Fundamental Tactics & Step-by-Step Play
Succeeding in Daily Guess requires methodical reasoning over impulsive guessing. Master players rely on four primary tactical principles:
Technique 1: Category Elimination Anchoring
Do not submit wild guesses on Clue 1 unless the visual detail is unmistakable! Use Clue 1 and Clue 2 to establish broad elimination boundaries (e.g., ruling out man-made structures vs. natural geography).
Technique 2: The Strategic Pass
If a revealed clue yields no strong leads, choose to Pass to the next clue tier rather than wasting an attempt on an unlikely guess. Passing preserves your guess accuracy stats while giving you more context.
Technique 3: Cross-Referencing Metrics
In Clue 3, carefully cross-reference numerical data (e.g., "Height: 324m, Year: 1889") against your category anchor. Often, numbers pinpoint an exact entity long before visual assets are fully unmasked.
Technique 4: Opponent Elimination Tracking
In multiplayer games, pay attention to the incorrect guesses revealed by your rivals. Knowing what the answer is not provides valuable negative space information for your own deduction.
2.4 Structure of a Play Session
A standard daily session of Daily Guess progresses through four structured phases:
- Phase 1: Clue Unveiling
- The active clue shutter is opened, revealing the current tier's information (visual, text, or statistical) to all players.
- Phase 2: Silent Deduction Window
- The 60-second timer is started. Players analyze the revealed clue behind their privacy screens and write down either an official guess or a "PASS".
- Phase 3: Simultaneous Reveal & Verification
- All players lower their privacy screens and reveal their written submissions.
- Submissions are checked against the master solution card.
- If a player guesses correctly: That player locks in their score for the day and steps back from further guessing.
- If all active players guess incorrectly or pass: The game advances to the next clue tier.
- Phase 4: Session Resolution & Streak Update
- Once all players have solved the puzzle or exhausted all 6 attempts, final daily scores are recorded, win streaks are updated, and the daily session ends.
2.5 Clue Tier & Scoring Matrix
| Clue Tier | Information Type Revealed | Base Point Value | Attempt Penalty |

2.6 Game Modes
2.6.1 Daily Campaign (1 to 6 Players - Standard Strategy)
The core competitive daily experience. Players tackle one case per calendar day, recording scores and building long-term win streaks over weeks and months.
2.6.2 Head-to-Head Speed Duel (2 Players - Real-Time Battle)
- Setup: 5 Case Cards are drawn from the archive deck.
- Gameplay: Players race through clues in real-time. The first player to buzz in and correctly state the answer claims the round's points. An incorrect buzz locks that player out for the remainder of the card!
- Victory: The player with the highest total score after 5 rounds wins the duel.
2.6.3 Cooperative Inquiry (2 to 8 Players - Family / Team Mode)
- Gameplay: All players work as a single investigative team, discussing revealed clues openly, pooling knowledge, and agreeing on a single collective guess per tier to achieve the highest possible group rating.
2.7 Completion & Final Scoring Matrix
At the end of a daily session, final scores are calculated and logged into the Master Deductive Ledger:
- Base Clue Score: Points awarded based on the specific Clue Tier at which the correct guess was submitted.
- Zero-Hint Bonus: $+150$ Points if no optional Deduction Tokens were used during the session.
- Streak Bonus: $+50$ Points for every active day in your current unbroken winning streak (capped at $+500$ points per day).
- Failed Case Penalty: If a player fails to guess correctly after 6 attempts, their daily score is $0$, and their active win streak resets to zero.
2.8 Game End & Victory Conditions
A daily session of Daily Guess officially concludes upon reaching any of the following resolution triggers:
- Successful Deduction (Victory): A player or team correctly identifies the mystery entity on or before Attempt 6.
- Case Exhaustion (Defeat): All 6 clue tiers have been revealed and all 6 guess attempts have been used without a correct answer.
- Timer Expiration: In competitive speed modes, the master countdown clock reaches 0:00 during a decision phase.
The player with the highest accumulated score at the end of a weekly or monthly campaign is officially named the Grand Deductive Agent of the Global Curiosity Institute!
2.9 Rule Clarifications & Deductive Etiquette
- Spelling and Specificity: Guesses must be reasonably specific and accurate. Minor spelling mistakes are accepted if the phonetic intent is clear, but broad category answers (e.g., writing "Tower" instead of "Eiffel Tower") are marked incorrect.
- No External Assistance: Using smartphones, search engines, atlases, or encyclopedias during an active deduction phase is strictly prohibited.
- Strict Anti-Spoiler Policy: When playing in group settings, players must keep their deduction rationale hidden until all participants have locked in their official guess for the current tier.
